About

Born from the heart of Queensland, Australia, "The Inner Response" emerges as a beacon of hope, resilience, and transformation for the worldwide emergency response community. Founded in 2022 by Marissa Rose—a dedicated paramedic with 9 years under her belt and an ambitious neuroscientist—the venture represents more than just a platform; it's a testament to human spirit and resilience.

Before the inception of "The Inner Response", there was "The Paramedic Podcast", Marissa's brainchild from 2021. This self-funded project, birthed from her unyielding commitment, quickly became a global sensation with a staggering reach spanning 30 countries and resonating with over 18,000 listeners. But what set it apart? While many platforms focus on clinical knowledge, Marissa's unique touch lay in unravelling the untold narratives of paramedicine—the silent tales of trauma, unparalleled resilience, and inspiring growth.

Drawing from her personal battles with mental health and PTSD, Marissa turned the spotlight on her own journey. She had stared into the abyss of despair and emerged stronger, now fuelled by a mission: to ensure her peers never plummet into those same depths. "The Inner Response" was her answer—a synthesis of her rich paramedic experience and the profound insights from her Masters in Neuroscience. By delving into the intricacies of trauma responses and PTSD, Marissa aspires to change the lens through which her peers view their mental health, aiming to catch them before they tumble too far.

Today, while "The Inner Response" is budding, its potential is limitless. It's not just a podcast; it's a movement. Beyond the auditory tales, it is gearing up to become a hub for ground-breaking research as Marissa embarks on her PhD journey. Envisioned as a repository for workshops, conferences, and speaking engagements, "The Inner Response" is more than just a platform; it's a mission. A mission to navigate the challenges emergency responders face, equip them with invaluable tools, and chart a course towards post-traumatic growth, peace, and enduring hope.

Join us in this journey, as we collectively rewrite the narrative for the betterment of the global paramedic and emergency response community.
